YOUR VOICE, YOUR CHOICE
Community safety organisations from across Gwent gathered in Caerleon on the 26th March 2011 to bid for a share of £30,000.Out of the 22 organisations that took part in the event, 15 successfully secured a share of the funding, which was made available by the Gwent High Sheriffs’ Community Fund and the Gwent Police property fund.

Sheriffs’ grant gets Valley’s groups on their bikes
The South Wales Argus features a visit by the High Sheriff, Hugh Phillips, to Buzz Youth Group in Blaina. A recent grant from the Fund went towards the running costs of a youth-led bike hire and repair shop which is empowering young people to make a difference in their community.

Official Launch of the Gwent High Sheriffs’ Community Fund
The Gwent High Sheriffs’ Community Fund was officially launched on the 25th February with an evening reception in the Blake Theatre at Monmouth School. Formerly known as the Gwent Shrievalty Police Trust, the event signalled an exciting new chapter for High Sheriffs’ Fundraising in Gwent, with a new name for the trust, and a new home at The Community Foundation in Wales. read more

TAFF TRAIL BY BIKE RAISES FUNDS FOR GSPT
On Saturday May 3 approximately 40 police officers and staff took part in a sponsored bike ride along the Taff Trail. The bike ride raised over £1500 which will help to make a difference to the communities in which we live.

THE ATTIK RECEIVES GRANT FROM GPST
High Sheriff Mike Harry will present a £1996.86 cheque to Monmouth Youth Project “The Attik” today, Thursday January 10, 2008, on behalf of The Gwent Police Shievalty Trust, which will enable them to create two more private counselling rooms to help offer more young people with advice and support in a safe and confidential environment.
